Taking inspiration from American Folk Art these intricately handmade tin decorations have been made in Oaxaca, Mexico by the wonderful husband and wife team, Christino and Aida. Everyone in the family is involved in the business, sons, daughters and cousins, we love the work this family produces. An age old craft known known as Hojalata, which dates back to the 16th Century. Tin art is produced when pieces of tin are cut, shaped, and embossed with a pattern and then sometimes painted as it has been beautifully here.
Measurement of bird when hanging is 17cm H x 14cm W.
A loop of metal is fixed to the birds so that they can be hung easily from any hook or door knob.
